Windows is trying to create a UNIX-like "sudo" effect whereby administrative
operations can be protected; however, their attempts mostly get in
the way of developer actions.
In particular,
the installations described in these documents will by far work
most like Windows XP if you have
turned off User Account Control from
the control panel.
